Every person is born with a particular potential which is unique to him/her. Students are of different types and not all of them are brilliant students. Many works hard to get good marks, while others don’t and yet manage to score well during examinations. There are also students who study hard but don’t get the desired percentage. In whichever case you find yourself, don’t panic. There is this old adage that says- failure to prepare is preparing to fail. The question is, how do you prepare for an upcoming exam in order to pass with flying colors? Here are a few preparation tips to help students ace in exams:
TIP 1: Good Time Table
Students should design their own revision time-table which directs all the material that has to be covered and tells them how much is needed to be studied each day. A revision timetable should be made with tough subjects and the ones in which a student is weak should be given more hours, and easier ones should be given fewer hours with sufficient intervals between each subject. The timetable should very importantly have breaks in between.
TIP 2: Where to REVISE
Students should revise in a place where they feel comfortable, relaxed and where they can concentrate properly. If you can, study early morning, head to a library or any place where you find a quiet ambiance. Some students feel comfortable studying in their rooms, but they have to refrain from their beds as it is a comfort zone to easily fall asleep.
TIP 3: Lose that FEAR
Fear and stress are one of the major factors which tend to become an obstacle in getting a high percentage. Students should break the fear and enter into the examination room with a free and clear mind ready to defeat failure. Before starting to write any subject, take a deep breath to help you release fear.
TIP 4: Say NO to CRAMMING
Cramming is not the best method of studying. Instead of cramming, they should make short notes while studying. Cramming everything can result in forgetting everything and making brief notes can help in remembering all or most points.
TIP 5: Trust God and Yourself
Students should meditate or pray well before the exam as it helps in relaxing their mind and also provides immense energy and peace to the mind. Build confident about yourself of producing a splendid result.
TIP 6: Sleep and Eat Well
The biggest mistake students make during exam time is not sleeping and eating well. They think sleeping is a waste of time. Students need enough sleep to rest their brains and eat food which supplies continuous energy to the brain for a longer period of time..
TIPS 7: Use Creative Techniques
If students find their subjects boring or are not able to understand well at a given moment within their study time, they can divert into a question and answer session. They can ever develop games or songs that are related to a given chapter
TIPS 8: Never Cheat in Exam Hall
Examination malpractices are very dangerous as you may be sent out of the hall even before you answer 50% of your question. Students don’t CHEAT!
TIPS 9: Write Neat and Present Well
Students should write in a clear and presentable manner. Answers should flow chronologically. Many times the teacher is not able to read all the answers but if she gets impressed by the way it has been presented then it would definitely lead to less deduction of marks.
